This movie was filmed on location near Moab, Utah. The setting for Jane Withersteen’s ranch is the Dugout Ranch, a 5,200 acre ranch that is now owned and operated by the Nature Conservancy.Filming commenced for Riders of the Purple Sage in 1995, a year before it was released as a made-for-TV-movie.
